Guest Remarks

Below are some unsolicited recent reviews of our home. All of our guests appreciate the tips and recommendations regarding restaurants, shops, markets and sightseeing as it makes them feel more like a "local" than a tourist. (Last updated July 2008)

Don & Diane & friends, Edmonton, Alberta

We have never had a better experience booking a holiday home. I appreciated your prompt, courteous and efficient communications. The house has been like borrowing a friend's home rather than a rental. And what a house it is! Everything to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience. A spectacular corner of the world with the comforts of home. Our thanks for your recommendations; all excellent. A bientot.

Having holidayed in Provence frequently, one may be inclined to become a little blasé around such beauty... well, it just got better! Well, what a place you have, views to die for, a home to dream of, close to everything yet far enough away to be peaceful. You certainly did your homework before settling here ... thank you for allowing us to share in the results of all your hard work, our holiday has been fantastic !!! Because you have left it as "your home", it has felt like ours "home from home". Thank you.

and loads of great memories!

We have had a wonderful week staying at this beautiful house and really don't want to leave! We had great fun at the Cairanne Wine Festival and have explored far and wide. We particularly enjoyed the market at Vaison la Romaine and the medieval town across the bridge. The Troglodyte village was fascinating. Definitely hope to be back again. Thanks.

Again, we had a wonderful time at your house here in Cairanne. We enjoyed eating outside late in the evenings and of course to have some good wines. Hope to be back again.

We truly enjoyed our time in your lovely home in Cairanne. The wine, food and vistas in the area will leave great memories forever. Our favorite restaurants were Le Tourne au Verre here in Cairanne and Bistro d'O in Vaison. For cheese lovers the Fromagerie Lou Canesteou in Vaison is a real treat.

We leave Cairanne with sadness. We have had fantastic weather; the pool: 27°C. The house has been great, cool inside despite 32°C outside. Loved the village, especially the restaurant (Le Tourne au Verre), which prepared a special vegetarian meal for us. Your folder was very helpful and we enjoyed your comments and recommendations. Thanks.

Thank you very much for letting us use your house. We had a wonderful week. Went to the markets and did a lot of wine tasting. Hope we can return. Lucky we found you!

Cindy, Kathy & friends, Minneapolis, Minnesota

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home and in the village of Cairanne. All of it was amazing. The people were very friendly especially when our French struggled a bit. The restaurants were fabulous. We tried the ones you suggested. We also did a little wine tasting and enjoyed the spectacular scenery traveling from town to town. The market was very interesting and colorful. We found ourselves purchasing items from the vendors and having fun with our French speaking. We even tried to jog the hills of Cairanne ... wow !!! We are leaving in better shape than when we arrived. Nimes was also a fun trip - lots to see and do. We all agree that we could use more time here. Thanks again for allowing us a wonderful vacation!

Graeme & Jane, Queenstown, New Zealand

We loved our stay in Cairanne. After six weeks of travel it was lovely to come to this corner of the Provence, slow down, relax in this lovely land and enjoy all what this area has to offer. The house had everything we needed and the Provence was everything and more than we had imagined. We took your advice and tried some of your restaurant recommendations, which were great. We also tried some others which were also great. I don't think you can make a mistake in respect to food and wine of this area. We loved the local shops and enjoyed being in very small villages. We adored the local markets and it is a must to go to l'Isle sur la Sorgue. We hope to come back some time, we experienced an early summer with 30°C every day. We had an unreal meal at the local restaurant, Le Tourne au Verre. It was fully booked all the week, so make a reservation!

Ellen & Jon Helge, Tromso, Norway

Everything about the house is wonderful, thank you for having such a nice swimming pool for refreshing ourselves after the heat of Provence days. Also we ate at several restaurants which you recommended, all of them very good.

Mads & Amy, Los Angeles, California

We had a wonderful time in all respects. Especially enjoyed relaxing and eating outside while admiring the remarkable views. Many thanks.

Your welcoming home and hospitality, how lucky we were to find you! We cooked wonderful meals in your kitchen, dined on your terrace overlooking your roses, olive trees and the hills of the Ventoux.
